Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 28 March 2026

1. Our Commitment

CrashProof is committed to making this platform accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, technology, or circumstance. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

This statement applies to the CrashProof web application available at crashproof.uk and all its sub-pages.

2. Compliance Status

CrashProof is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means some parts of this content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address known gaps.

What we have done

  • Colour contrast ratios designed to meet or exceed WCAG AA minimums on primary text
  • All interactive elements (buttons, links, form controls) are keyboard-navigable
  • Semantic HTML used throughout for headings, lists, and landmarks
  • Form inputs include visible labels
  • The site is fully operable without a mouse using keyboard alone
  • No content flashes more than three times per second
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Known limitations

  • Some interactive chart components (Recharts) may have limited screen reader support — we are investigating accessible alternatives
  • Slider inputs include visible value labels but may not fully announce value changes on all screen readers; users can contact us for data in an alternative format
  • AI-generated responses are rendered as Markdown and may not always convey structure to all assistive technologies

3. Technical Information

CrashProof relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

  • HTML5
  • CSS (Tailwind CSS)
  • JavaScript (React)
  • WAI-ARIA attributes where applicable

These technologies are relied upon for conformance. We test primarily with keyboard-only navigation and modern screen readers including NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS).

4. Disproportionate Burden

We have not currently invoked a disproportionate burden claim for any part of the site. We will keep this under review as the platform evolves.

5. Requesting Information in an Accessible Format

If you need information from this website in a different format — such as accessible PDF, large print, or plain text — please contact us:

Email: accessibility@crashproof.uk

We aim to respond within 5 business days.

6. Reporting Accessibility Problems

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of CrashProof. If you encounter a barrier or find something that is not accessible, please tell us:

Email: accessibility@crashproof.uk

Subject line: Accessibility Issue

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) or, in Northern Ireland, the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI).

7. Review & Updates

This statement was prepared on 28 March 2026. We review and update this statement at least annually, or whenever significant changes are made to the platform.
